Here are some of the things I have been designing at the Art Institute of Virginia Beach:
3D MODELING & CHARACTER DESIGN
This is my modeling of the World Trade Center Port Authority Transportation Hub (WTC PATH), which was designed by Santiago Calatrava. I modeled this in Maya for the architectural assignment in my 3D Modeling class at school.
A Tim Burton style gargoyle I created and modeled in both clay and 3D version in Maya. Shown below is the Maya turntable animation of the character and my full presentation is on Prezi at: http://prezi.com/4tj5gzrd_ppe/gorgelay/
A steampunk dog character I designed as a clay model of my design of the Tinker. Note: I also designed a full story-based virtual sim with the Tinker’s story which you can see at: http://steampunkables.wordpress.com/
This is a gargoyle logo I designed to use with Gorgelay.
This was my first painting with acrylics on paper. It was used as an assessment of where we were at the beginning of the class back in early October 2013.
SPYDER COLOR WHEEL
This was done with gauche acrylic to represent that color wheel as part of my color theory classes.
SELF PORTRAIT WITH MONOCHROMATIC BROWNS
This is a self portrait I did in December 2013 using a monochromatic brown color harmony. I was going for something a bit more abstract with an armadillo like coat, starry eyes and Indian Jones style hat. This was an interpretive work that built from an earlier self portrait I did at the Art Institute Online in 2010.
NUBIST OF THE SPHERES
This was done as a great artist inspired work with influences from Salvadore Dali and his work titled “Galatea of the Spheres.” I used a split complimentary harmony of orange with blue-green and blue-violet.
Whoopi Goldberg caricature is shown below from (1) freehand drawing on paper to (2) digital cleaned up version and (3) colorized digital version.
These are my first caricatures which I did for my Geometry class final project with a comic book about a fictional group I call the Geominati.
